CTPP - Center for Processes and Products Technology
The Center for Processes and Products Technology (CTPP) comprises competencies aimed at improving productive processes, and in conceiving and developing new technologies. Its mission is to provide technological solutions applicable to processes and industrial products in the areas of chemistry, biotechnology, metallurgy and materials.
CTPP has multidisciplinary teams of experienced and qualified professionals and a modern and versatile laboratory structure for bench and pilot scale studies of productive processes, specialized technological services and consultancy, as well as tests and analyses involving physical, mechanical, microstructural and microbiological characterization of materials and products.
The Center works hand in hand with the production sector, adding value by providing technological support to the following areas:

LMMC – Metallurgy and Ceramic Materials Laboratory
- Steelmaking, foundry, mechanical forming and metallic and ceramic powders: process development, product development, productivity improvements
- Processing, application and performance of materials: aluminum alloys, cast iron, electrical materials, structural ceramics
- Regeneration and use of scraps and residues in the metallurgical industry: steelmaking, casting and aluminum
LPP – Laboratory of Chemical Processes and Particle Technology
- Microencapsulation, industrial crystallization, spray drying: process development, product development, improvements in productivity and support to industrial units
- Development of new polymers and resins
- Mathematical modeling of shaking systems
- Tests and physical and physicochemical characterization services for particulate solids (granulometry, apparent density, real density, fluidity, compressibility and morphology)
- Tests and standardized analyses of plastics, rubber, expanded materials, composites and adhesives, among others
- Technical Opinions for several purposes (technical justification for uninterrupted work including Sundays and holidays, tax classification, etc.)
