Development of plastic recycling processes
Plastic materials have become a constant presence in human life, mainly in disposable materials such as bottles, sacks, bags, cups and packaging. These materials must be discarded in an environmentally correctly way, since burning them releases carbon from the plastic into the atmosphere.
Therefore, recycling combines a more environmentally suitable solution with the generation of reusable materials. However, recycling not based on criteria may affect product quality or even preclude the use of recycled material.
IPT develops, evaluates and optimizes plastic recycling processes, with a view to improving product quality through suitable processing.
Some examples of activities in this area are:
- Development of plastic recycling processes;
- Evaluation of recycling processes;
- Training in the classification of post-consumer waste products;
- Adaptation of blends to replace new materials with recycled materials.
