Carbothermal and metallothermal reduction of ores, slags and concentrates
Many of the processes for obtaining metals and alloys are based on the carbothermal or metallothermal reduction of ores, concentrates and slag. Optimization of these processes and the development of new ways to obtain metals and alloys by reduction are fundamental for the competitive supply of existing or emerging markets.
IPT evaluates, optimizes and develops ore, concentrate and slag reduction processes, aided by a highly qualified team to carry out simulations of reduction processes to experiments on a laboratory or pilot scale.
Experimental results can be evaluated by chemical and physical analyses of the phases generated during reduction (gas, metal and slag), as well as by thermogravimetric analysis or thermal mass balance.
